DON’T SLEEP SOMEWHERE ELSE
If you suspect that you are sharing your bed with bed bugs, DON’T MOVE! Don’t begin sleeping in another room, on the sofa or stay with a friend. The bed bugs will follow you! They will know you have moved from your bed and start travelling to find you in the next room by smelling your breath. This will cause a bigger infestation.
DON’T THROW OUT YOUR MATTRESS and FURNITURE
Often, even after throwing out your mattress, you will still find you have bed bugs. We recommend the first step you take is to buy a bed bug mattress cover and seal all the bugs and eggs inside to die. Then, you can monitor for signs of further infestation. Look for blood stains on the mattress cover or bugs located around the zipper.
Alternatively, you may want to rent a bed bug heater and treat immediately.
DON’T START BUYING CHEMICALS TO TREAT YOURSELF
The powders and chemicals you purchase from the store are very ineffective and an expensive remedy. There are lots of homemade solutions for CO2 detectors, bed bug traps, powders and sprays on the internet. These products have very limited success as they only deal with the adult bug. They will not solve the problem of the eggs which will hatch in just a few short weeks. You can spend hundreds of dollars on these products and still be battling bed bugs months later.
DON’T SLEEP IN YOUR CLOTHES
One of the fastest ways bed bugs travel is by attaching themselves to clothing. If you sleep in your clothes, the bed bugs may still be in your clothing when you go into the living room or off to work. Next thing you know, those little bugs will be jumping off spreading the infestation in your home or to someone elses.
DO HEAT YOUR CLOTHES IN THE DRYER
All pest control companies will recommend you heat all your clothes in the dryer for 30 minutes and bag and seal them prior to treatment. It is not necessary to bag any furniture or mattresses prior to a heat treatment. Leave your mattress cover on.
DO SAVE ANY BUGS YOU FIND
Save any bugs you find by taping them to a piece of paper, in a clear jar or in a plastic bag in the freezer. You may need to show them to landlord or pest control professional. You may never see a bed bug but you will see the bites or stains on the mattress.
DO SEE YOUR DOCTOR
Bed bug bites are usually red spots in a row or cluster on your torso, arms or legs. If you have not seen any bed bugs, your doctor can determine in the spots you are seeing are bed bug bites or diagnose other possible reasons for the red spots, like spider bites, scabies or folliculitis.
DON’T ASSUME YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE BEING BITTEN
Research has shown that 70% of people don’t react to bed bug bites. Just like some people swell up when bitten by a mosquito and others don’t. Bed Bugs will bite the first available body and do not care if you are male or female, rich or poor, blonde or brunette. You just look like dinner to them.
DON’T ASSUME BED BUGS ARE ONLY IN YOUR BED
In the early stages of a bed bug infestation, the bugs hide out close to their food source in the mattress and bed frame. As time passes, the females will start moving away from the bed to escape the males. Look for bed bugs behind pictures, in curtains, baseboards, night tables and sofas.
DO LOOK FOR A HEATER RENTAL COMPANY
The most effective remedy for getting rid of bed bugs is to use heat. Bed Bugs Dead Bugs is the only company who rents heaters and offers a delivery and set up service in the Toronto area. This is the most effective and affordable bed bug remedy. You will be sleeping tight tonight!
Other companies wanted $over $2,000 to heat my home. Adrienne showed me how to use the equipment. I set it up myself and saved a ton of money. This is a valuable service. Thanks to Adrienne, my Bed Bugs are now Dead Bugs!

I was skeptical about this new heat treatment but the research showed that it would work. After months of using powders, I was thrilled to watch as the bed bugs died in 10 seconds, right before my eyes.

Twice, a pest control company sprayed and we kept getting bitten. After one heat treatment, we found lots of dead bed bugs. They even fell out of the curtains. The heat treatment really works. Best of all, I didn't have to leave during treatment.
