Spider Bite or Bed Bug Bite?

How do you know it’s a Bed Bug Bite?

You’ve just discovered that you have a bite mark or two and you are probably running through the possibilities of what could it be? In the summer, you might guess mosquito, but it’s only June and the mosquitos are not out yet.  Next, you might think of spiders. It’s quite possible but here are some things to look for when a spider bites you.  Spiders take a bite of your skin and leave a little hole.  It will get a bit red and might itch a bit.

The difference with bed bugs is that they stab your skin and inject a fluid into you while they suck out the blood.  It is the fluid they inject which makes your skin puffy and red.

When the bed bug is young, you may not notice the bites, but as they mature into adults, the bites get bigger.

As the weather warms up, bed bugs start propagating and the population explodes.  A single female can lay up to 500 eggs.  That can mean a lot of bed bugs.

By the time September rolls around, your population of bed bugs is now getting crowded on the mattress and bed frame and have started migrating to the walls, cracks in the floor or even books on your nightstand.

The longer you wait, the bigger the problem becomes to solve.  You can throw out your mattress and sofa, but the bugs will already be hiding elsewhere in your room.  You’ve also probably tried a few different methods of killing the bed bugs, like lavender oil, alcohol, diatomaceous earth and bug sprays, only to discover that you still have bugs.

Don’t worry, it’s not too late to rent a bed bug heater and solve your problem.  Whether you have just discovered bed bugs or have been battling them for a while, look into heat treatment and rent a bed bug heater today and sleep tight tonight.
